Dr. Stan McKenzie is the Supervisor of Missions and Children’s Work in the Tenth Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, which comprises the state of Texas. He became the first male supervisor in the over 200-year history of the AME Church when his wife, Bishop Vashti Murphy McKenzie was elected the first female bishop in 2000.

Supervisor McKenzie has a legacy for developing creative mission-based ministry to meet the needs of youth and adults in AME Church communities where ever he serves.  

In the 10th Episcopal District, he initiated mission outreach initiatives to promote community development, enhance the AME brand and support mission outreach worldwide

He is a former professional player in the National Basketball Association and still holds an NBA record in free throws. He is also a former Human Resource Executive with decades of business and personnel development experience. 

Supervisor McKenzie received an Honorary Degree from Paul Quinn College in 2015.
